Carabiner clips are supplied on all kinds of products these days, and offer a high level of utility for attaching items to backpacks, luggage, or countless other places. As an outdoorsman, I use them all the time. Most are simple aluminum fare with a spring-loaded gate. This Autuveen Titanium Carabiner Keychain Clip is a different animal. It is made of strong, lightweight titanium, and is much more intricately constructed than garden variety carabiner clips.This premium clip is also unusual in not having a spring-loaded gate. Instead, the metal is machined with a series of thin, parallel cuts in one area to reduce mass and allow it to bend for opening and snap back when pressure is released. No extra spring to rust or break; the body of the clip is the spring. I found this inventive feature to be really cool, and does set this carabiner apart from the pack. And if you are worried that it will be hard to open, it is not.This is not a load rated carabiner intended for climbing or supporting heavy weights. It is marketed as a clip for keys and securing everyday carry items. But I still wanted to get a sense of its strength and build quality. First I tested the carabiner by applying up to ten pounds of weight, just to test its mettle. The carabiner lives up to this test, but at about ten pounds the gap where the gate opens starts to slightly widen. I also cycled the gate one hundred times to check for unwanted bending or distortion, get a feel for using it, and to look for cracks or breakage. Everything appeared fine with this test.This is a stylish, useful, and well made product. But it does come with one caveat. When I wrote this review, the product was priced just below twenty-five bucks. That makes it strikingly expensive in a world filled with cheap aluminum competition that can often be purchased for a dollar or less. And value is the reason why I rated it four stars instead of five. If you are buying it for looks, status, or simply expect an upgraded level of build quality, and you do not mind paying a premium price for a premium product, this is a really great carabiner clip with an extra measure of coolness thrown in. Mine has earned a spot on the outside of my favorite daypack.

The price of this is kind of high for one small keychain carabiner. But the high tech, lightweight “bling” factor of genuine titanium cannot be beat. The fact that you can cut a solid piece of titanium so that it bends like a spring without any hinge pivot points, pins or springs is just cool. And virtually indestructible since it is one solid piece of titanium without any parts that can wear or break. It’s insanely light and springy. The included titanium key ring is also light and springy and compliments the carabiner. This key ring will not wear out or lose its springiness like a steel key ring.I just wish it was available in a larger size. The smaller size makes it harder to open with my fat fingers. And the belt loops on some of my pants/shorts are a little too wide for the smaller clip opening. Despite the size, this is still a 5 star product.

TLDR: Works, cool looking, titanium is neat. This is a high quality item, worth the money.Deets: This thing is one solid piece of titanium. Cleverly designed with alternating cuts to make the clasp springy.Been using it on my everyday-carry bag to hold keys or water bottle. I was pretty sure this carabiner would wear out or deform, but it’s held up remarkably well. I’m impressed.I’ve gone through so many traditional carabiners which eventually wear out or break, usually the spring goes, but sometimes the latch hinge goes.However, I’ve been using this titanium one daily (keys on, keys off) every day for months now, and it still looks and acts like it did on day one. I’m expecting many years of service out of this guy.If this is going to be your daily your key-ring, this is the one to get. I would (and will) buy this again because the quality is there and it’s holding up so well.
