Great for hands free hikes. Well made and easy to put on and off. Adjustable and functional. I love the water pocket in the back. Comfortable and lightweight.

My use case for this vest is probably different from most people: I was looking for a lightweight vest that I can put a few batteries and electronics in to keep them warm with body heat while spending time in very cold environments. So I was looking for a vest with decent pockets, something lightweight for comfort and packability, and something breathable to allow any moisture to easily wick to outer layers.This seems to do the trick. There are 4 main front pockets: a top and bottom on both sides. The bottom has a small velcro tab and the top on the left has an elastic band (not adjustable), while the top on the right side also has velcro.As far as I can tell, all four pockets are about the same size, with a lot of overlap. Each comfortably fits a standard size smartphone with thin case. The overlap though means that if you have two larger items, you’ll be somewhat limited and probably couldn’t fit both on the same side. Just for reference you should be able to fit a smartphone in the upper and lower pockets at the same time or a phone and 1-2 energy bars. If you want to fit a soft side water bottle, you probably wouldn’t be able to fit much else on the same side unless it’s fairly flat.The front and back has standard thin 3D spacer mesh. There’s a solid shell over it for the over-the-shoulder straps, and the entire back has a solid shell over the mesh as well, which will reduce breathability. There is an opening at the top for a water bladder, but since there are no other gaps on the back panel, it won’t do much for breathability.It looks like this was designed to balance breathability with weight carrying capacity. Since water is relatively heavy, and this has the ability to carry a bladder on the back and bottles up front (plus a large zipper pocket on the back too), it’s clearly able to carry several pounds of weight, if needed (not sure how comfortable that would be while running, though).The straps and webbing seem substantial enough that I have no concerns about it being able to support a bit of weight, and they don’t seem to rub or cause any discomfort while wearing.
