Nathan Timing Chip Ankleband

The first tri i ran in i used the little plastic things they give you at the race which i actually didn’t mind. I never really even knew it was on there. i kept looking down to make sure it was there during the run.With this ankleband, i could definitely feel it was there during the swim which was a little distracting.The chip goes on via the velcro strap. At first, i didn’t appear to have enough velcro to latch onto but then realized it sticks to the entire band, not just the opposite velcro on the band. After finishing the tri, the chip and band were in the exact same place as when i started so i can certainly say it is quite secure (assuming you put it on correctly which is hard to mess up).This is probably more of those ‘it looks cooler than it helps’ types of things. I’d be perfectly fine using the plastic ties they give you at the race if i didn’t have this. But since this is only a few bucks, i don’t feel bad about getting it. I’ll likely continue to use it in all my tri’s.
