Malone 25-Inch Roof Rack Pads for Kayaks/SUPs/Surfboards (Set of 2)

These worked great mounted over the horizontal 2″x2″ square channel steel bumper hitch attached T-bar that together with a Thule roof rack system made for a terrific over the truck cab & bed canoe carrier set-up. Perfect amount of durable wind resistant padding so that the gunnel sides of the canoe are adequately and safely cushioned.

These appear to be well made roof rack pads. My only issue is that they do not fit my roof rack. The Malone website says that these are “compatible” with the Nissan XTERRA, but they are not. The crossbars on the XTERRA are 32 inches long, and oval shaped roughly 3.5 inches wide and 1.5 inches high. These are not even close to fitting the crossbars. Sadly, I will need to return them.

Easy and simple to use, gets me on the water fast. I don’t know if they fade or not because I don’t leave them on my car. So simple to put on and off, I see no reason to drive around with them on. But when they are on they look nice.
