Kuat Grip 4/6 Direct Mount Kit for T-Channel Crossbars

Similar issue as prior reviewer – short screws. Have factory Cayenne slotted roof bars that are slightly curved end-to-end. Used a dremel tool to modify the underside of mount blocks to match contour of the bars, which eliminated the cantilevered dead space under the one side of each mount block and also reduced the amount of screw length needed.Short blocks are great for low profile mounting when skis/boards can all be mounted binding side up. For my application the short blocks are too low to accommodate ski bindings facing down to roof – Pano sliding glass roof. Taller blocks work for applications when need to use full capacity of Grip 6 and double skis up with bindings facing up and down.Considered sourcing longer bolts and cutting them to needed length, but contouring the blocks to match the bar profile resulted in a more “polished” install. No doubt modification is not supported by Kuat, but requires very little material removal depending on contour and curvature of cross bars.

Installed on stock Tesla crossbars and had no issues with the screws being too short as other reviews mention. Seems very sturdy. Minor thing is tesla crossbars are curved, so risers dont exactly sit flush. But that said, it feels very sturdy and immobile. Wish it came with torque specs…
