Kuat D101 Hitch Adapter, 1.25″ to 2″

I have a Sherpa 2 bike rack made for a 1.25″ receiver. But I need to adapt it to use on my truck 2″ receiver. I bought this adapter even though some reviews were bad. Kuat makes good products and I expected this to be good as well.It is a very nice piece of extruded aluminum that is made to bolt onto their 1.25″ rack. It comes with 2 allen head bolts that screw into the pre tapped holes on the rack. It is designed to fit so that the anti-wobble mechanism can still be used.The most important thing is that you have to use a 3/8″ hitch pin or lock with this adapter bracket. If you do so, the 3/8″ pin slides in easily and the anti-wobble feature tightens up the rack as it should. It is a great solution! Now I can use this rack on both of our cars!

We have two Küat racks, a 2″ and a 1.25. My wife was recently rear-ended and her rat got bent up so we had to put my smaller one on so I got this adapter I was assuming it would be have a loose fit. It actually fits pretty solid and holds the Rack in very tightly in a 2-inch hitch. Biggest issue I had was the pin that goes through the receiver and holds the rack into the receiver with the lock is super tight on this since the holes on the adapter and the1.25 rack. You have to force the smaller pin through a slightly misaligned hole once you get that in it really is solid and tightens up nicely. Just as another note we love the racks also they are super solid hold the bikes in easy-to-use and the up and down mechanism is so nice. Our previous racks we’re a pain in the butt to raise up and down these are so smooth and solid
