This is such a great solution for my beach hats that don’t have straps. It was pretty easy to “install” them too. I like that the cords are thin, so in situations where I don’t need it, I can simply flip the cord to the back and you can’t see it. Feels fairly durable, but one cord came without the metal hardware. It’s such a good price though, I can’t complain.

My hats frequently blow off my head, especially when I’m out on the water. I had my doubts about whether these chin cords would really work because they aren’t very long and they don’t look that sturdy. However, I have been pleasantly surprised. The cords are inserted into the inside band of the hat, or some hats have air holes on the sides and I’ve inserted the ends in there. I leave the whole cord tucked inside the hat until I need it. Usually, pulling the cord tight around my chin is effective in keeping the hat on, but if it’s very windy, I put the cords behind my ears. They’ve worked better than I expected and I’m really happy because I can wear these cute hats without worrying about them blowing away. I’ll grant you hat the cord is not the most attractive look as I have a double chin, but it is effective.
