Capstone 4 Bike Hitch Mount Folding Bike Rack

I took a chance on this rack since there was only one l review when I bought it, I am super impressed. I looked a long time for a rack and it seemed there were cheap ones and then well built expensive ones. I always appreciate a well designed product and this is definitely one of them. Super solid construction, heavy duty pipes, love all the safety features. Every removable pin has a wire attached so when you pull the pin it stays attached. The locking mechanism and anti-wobble hitch pin is a nice touch. It doesn’t eliminate side to side wobble but up and down is solid. Even where the rack hinges down there is a set screw that takes out any slack once the rack is back in the upright position. Really nice holders where the bikes attach and they are easily adjustable.I rarely write reviews but can appreciate a well thought out design. I always judge a put-it-together product by the hardware it comes with. This one uses heavy duty bolts with self locking nuts. Couldn’t be happier with it.

Works awesome as described: Fit 4 Men’s bikes on an hour long trip into high elevation mountains and barely any wobbling, although the hitch tightening anti-wobble feature “could” be better.The locking mechanism for security on the hitch is great, wish it had a small lock on the top bar that holds the bikes in place though, but it’s ok because they supply you with a nice long rope chain (that did lock 4 big Men’s bikes together) and has one end locking into the hitch bolt device so that’s fine.Super easy to assemble in under 30min, I suggest to keep the provided tools in your car for sure.The BEST PART of this thing is it can fold down away from your rear cargo door when you need to open the back door, but ONLY if your cargo door opens vertically, it wouldn’t work so well with side-opening rear door.

I took this on a 400 mile road trip with 3 adult bikes on it (2 MTB, 1 Road). No way you’re getting 4 adult bikes on there. It was easy to assemble. It will take a few miles to settle in, so on your first stop I would double check to make sure everything is tight again, and tighten any bolts that need it. The swing down feature was nice, but I would be fearful of any more weight on it, as I think it was on its limit with the 3 bikes that were on it. The straps are adjustable and work well too.
