CamelBak Cloud Walker 18 Hiking Hydration Pack, 70oz

It was time for me to upgrade to a bigger pack for day hikes. I’m particular so I ordered 3 different bags to try.The Camelbak was a clear winner. Much more comfortable in general but especially on my small frame. Padding on the shoulder straps is thick but not stiff and doesn’t rub or dig in anywhere. No padding on the others at all. I’d prefer a magnet for the straw but the clip is fine and the chest straps can be swapped to opposite sides for left/right handed preference. I wish it had a separate pocket for the water reservoir or a slightly bigger main pocket to make up for it, but it’s big enough. Listing says its a 2L bladder but its 2.5L. Side pockets are huge, love that. The small zipper pocket on front is adequate size too. There’s loops for hiking poles which is a plus. I don’t use mine that often but when I do, it’s annoying not to have a dedicated place for them. And the waist strap is removable which is cool cause I don’t need it with this pack and it’s nice not having extra straps dangling. Very happy with it overall.Side note: I typically love Osprey packs and almost just ordered that one and called it a day. But they’ve made a lot of changes since I last got one, apparently. I’m glad I ordered different options cause the Osprey was a hard no. Really disappointed in that one.
