I is a closed cell type of.I plan to use these spools to coil and store my fishing leaders. I use a variety of leader length and material for different species of freshwater fish. I usually use a plastic, resealable bag but the coiled line can get easily tangled during storage and especially when I remove the line for the bag. These spools will make it faster and easier to use the different leaders and will also help with organization. The spools a little smaller in diameter than I would prefer but I think these will be ok for my use.
